With a little research done, it looks as through The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe may not be the alagorical horror that I was worried that it was going to be. Granted, I can't be sure of this until I see it, but it's only a few weeks away.
How sad is it, that the only reason I'm managing to realize what week it is, by knowing that the next installment of the Harry Potter movies comes out next Friday. I'm really looking forward to it. Then Thanksgiving after that, and about a week or so after that, Narnia. I'm also jonesing for Coldstone, because the pumpkin ice cream is there and nothing rocks more than the pumpkin ice cream.
I think I finally know what I want to get my dad, considering I know, I think his Christmas gift will be late. My plan is to get him a portable dvd player and the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings dvds. It will take time to get all of them for him, but he's done so much for me in the past that it will be a nice thing to do for him. I also need to mail him the latest books in the Harry Potter series. He would have read them if I were living at home, but I'm not there, so I have to get him his fix. It pleases me that he got into the books, because we've had so much fun talking about them. It's just another little thing for us to enjoy together. I think the greatest reason for getting him the portable dvd player is he likes different movies from my mom and aunt and I need to get him the ultimate Fu Flick - Kung Fu Hustle. If you haven't seen this, I highly suggest you run to your local rental place or Best Buy and pick it up. The minute it started, I knew that my dad would enjoy it.
Yesterday, E asked me to come into town to go to a going away party for one of his co-workers. He met me at Market East and we made the walk to the "dive" they frequent. For a dive, I liked it a lot and damned, I wish I had co-workers like that. Well I have in the past, but I never had a boss that was that easy going, cute, and fun to talk to. Yes, I did say E's boss is cute, as is his wife. They're a fun group of people to hang out with and I hope to join them again at the dive, as well as the Christmas party. It's fun to meet people that you just feel comfortable talking to on a first meeting. I've found a good number of them around here. I guess this area is just cool. I wonder if I could possibly find a Lucent like crowd down here eventually. It would be great to find even more geeks to hang out with, though I need to find more that are a bit more eccentric. Everyone's so calm and I feel weird being the only one with extra holes in my body and the need to get more ink. I'm sure there are more hiding in the open somewhere.
I hope everyone is well and having a good weekend, even if it is half gone. Take care all.

Date: 2005-11-13 07:22 am (UTC)Kier sent me this recipe for homemade pumpkin ice cream. I don't know if you've already seen it, but it is SO. GOOD.
A Lucent-like crowd
Date: 2005-11-13 01:01 pm (UTC)I've often felt like that too...there's really nobody at Intel I truly click with in any way, and that's sad. don't get me wrong; I have many friends here, but I wouldn't really hang out with any of them outside of work, to say, go bowling. :)
Miss you. Don't make me come down there and see you!
