Dec. 4th, 2006 11:36 amSo Thursday began our countdown to move. E took both Thursday and Friday off to do stuff and prepare to move the big stuff on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday night, Josh showed up and we hung out and enjoyed ourselves. I don't care how much rum someone puts in eggnog, I still dislike the idea, though Josh seemed to like it enough.
Saturday morning, Jeremy/DesertFox showed up to help us start moving the boxes and big stuff. Hadn't met him before, other than seeing him on IRC. Had fun talking with him. He was a huge help and I'm really happy we got to have to time to hang out with him, rather than just meeting him to lift heavy stuff. Jason showed up later, adding another truck to the the moving impliments and another set of strong arms. It was good to see him again and also fun to hang out with Sunday night when all was done for the day.
Sunday was sort of the end of the big stuff. The old apartment is looking fairly empty, while we had game in the new apartment last night. It felt good to sit at a table for game, rather than sitting in the living room looking for a surface to roll dice on. Everyone seemed happy with it, we have a Chinese place within jumping distance now, a pizza place and a 24 hour Rite-Aid across the street for people to get their gaming needs, ie junk food.
We slept in the old apartment last night and are hoping to just go over to the new one tonight. That would mean moving the cats tonight and I don't know how I feel about moving them at night, but we'll see. Tomorrow is phone and internet being put in over there, so I'll be there most of the day, without much for net services in the morning - that's okay though!
The new place is definitely bigger and more homey. It also helps that I had been there to visit Sue. It feels strange without her there, I was used to walking through that door and getting a hug from that beautiful woman, but at least I have memories of her being there and now we have a good home that's previous tenents left us some great stuff (bookshelves!!).
So now, I sit here on the floor and feel fuzzy as hell from sleeping strangly for the past three days. Need to go down to the bank and do some stuff today, pack some more, and hope to hell that I can collapse soon, because I'm really feeling the overly whelmed feeling of moving. I'm honestly ready to fall over and sleep for a couple of days. Soon though, soon.
