Nov. 7th, 2006 11:54 amI'm sick. I'm not sure if it's sinuses or thyroid, all I know is I feel crappy and dizzy, but that's it for bad news.
Yesterday, I went out with my friend Tara and her 22 month old, Ian. The beginnings of dizziness and general fuzziness had just descended upon me as we made our way through Giant to do food shopping. There were a crazy amount of people there - the type of lines you see just before a storm - which didn't help my already ailing mind. We made our way through the line with our purchases. I was talking to the bagger and watching Ian when the lady asked me if I'd like my coupon for my free turkey. I looked at her blankly. Free turkey? Coupon? Oh! I had reached the number of points I needed to get my free turkey. I agreed and looked at Ian and Tara and said, "Yay! Free turkey!" happily. Ian in turn reapeated my happy "Yay!" in a loud voice that only a toddler can do, stopping numerous people around us and causing them to smile and chuckle. I'm so glad my joy over a free turkey and Ian's joy for me, 'caused other people to smile despite their chilly Monday.
The countdown to our move has begun. We'll be in the new place before the winter holiday, although things are going to be tight, we'll have a home to decorate!!! I can't wait! We'll have a gas stove/oven to cook with! And even better, we knew the previous tenants! It's in a good location, near a bunch of little places to eat, a couple of pubs, and basically on the corner of the two main streets of the town. It's close enough to enjoy the downtown lights and pretties, but I thinks still far enough away to keep me from getting creeped out. Our town really gets into the holidays near the train station, and although it's pretty, it is a little much for me. The bank will be near by, the library, the newspaper, it really is a prime location. And Sue gets to know that the home she loved is in the hands of friend's that will love it and take care of it like she did.
I had wanted to try to do some kind of party for the winter holiday, but right now I'm not worrying about it. There are more holidays to come and I'd rather be settled in. I still want to have our normal Sunday night games, because I know they'll be a bit turned on their heads with the arrival of Gary's next child in Jan/Feb, pending on when he decides to join us in the outside world.
Putting off overly active job hunting, since I'll be doing the lions share of the packing. With past moves, I know it's best to wait, because you get lost in the shuffle when moving sometimes, whether the job loses you or you lose them. Plus I'm gonna be plenty busy. Got a lot of packing to do and need to decide what the best plan of action is with the kitties.
So lots of excitement. I'll keep things posted on the goings on.
