political dreams

transient_orangeI didn't vote today, but I am finally registered.
I went with E to the school where we vote and waited patiently while he went in to do his civic duty. When he finally came out we discussed the current choices and the government.
I've known for a while that I have every right to run for office in 2012. Most of the time, I've joked about going straight for the presidency, but right now, I'm seriously considering going for Congress. I want to look into options and learn more about it. C'mon, see me as a Congress person?! And then after that, I can go for the big time. E pictured me going before Congress, giving a speech, walking off in a huff, and all the rest of the people looking at each other uncomfortably.
I've got many dreams - you'd think I were still five in that sense. I want to be a mechanic and an x-ray person, now I want to take over Congress, and then the entire country! Picture it, enjoy it, and maybe someday I'll at least get to fix your car or make sure your bones aren't broken. Dreams are good, but reality is better to move with.
