I'm thinking "out loud" again
I've had a black and white cat attached to my leg almost every minute that I sit on the couch. He looks up at me with adoring eyes and purrs. I don't think he likes it when I go to work, but hey, it pays for the kibble.
Works okay. The mall however sucks. Really the only good thing about the mall is the Border's Express right next to the store I work in.
I can't stand teenagers. They are the dregs of society and I'm going to start verbally smacking them up beside the head - though I know that doing the opposite scares them more. I'm just old enough to be looking at them as children now - hell, if you were born after 1990 it's hard for me to believe you should be out of first grade, never mind acting like asses and driving people nuts.
Everyone keeps telling me the boys come into to find girls - though quite often they find no girls and act like asses. Great, thanks humanity for sticking me with the teenage hormone kings. Just what I always wanted. I honestly don't think the guys that I went to school with were nearly as bad as these kids - but then I never spent time with them outside of school (which I begin to believe I should be happy about).
I don't know what to think about those that misbehave - whether they are younger or older. It's not my place to reprimand them or to raise them and I feel like someone should be. I feel like a lot of the parents just never had time or never cared for the children in their lives and it shows in everything they do. I can't say the people in my generation were like this or were not, because I didn't see like this then. I'm fairly certain they didn't, but I'm sure some older folks could disagree.
I don't know how to take it, with how society has stepped into how a family should behave, what they can do, and who can make up a "traditional" family. I mean, if a mother and father make a traditional family structure, why did spanking your kids become a crime? I don't necessarily agree with spanking your kids, but punishment is as old as the "traditional family". If I'm supposed to believe that mom + dad = proper family, then physical punishment = A Okay.
I think that something has gone really wrong with familial structure and it's fucking the kids up royally. I don't know if children even understand what respect is anymore, or at least how to behave with social graces. They believe they own the world in a way that I sure as hell didn't and act like everyone else is the scum of the earth.
I wonder if it's the lack of grandparents? Were we the last generation to have someone in the family active in our everyday lives? What are these kids missing that is so essential to their social structure and how can it be fixed? Will these people lead an entire lifetime of acting like stuck up bastards and the rest of us will put up with it?
I still see the massive amounts of anger that I saw before. So many are so angry about gods only knows what. It's not about the middle east or something political - but more about what they personally can or can't get. I don't know if they realize that people will treat them according to how they behave. Maybe that's what their parents lacked - the balls to act annoyed or appalled at their own damned kids actions.
Honestly - teenagers are one of the reasons I never want to have kids. I don't think I could deal with that behavior, the constant pushing the limits. I'd bash them over the head with something heavy and drag them to their room and lock them away until the hormones settle down.
Yeah, so this is all rhetorical and so on. Don't get offended or worried, it wasn't meant for that.
